Our Easter Gardens

Today in our RE session, Class 1 continued to explore the Easter story and found out about what happened after Good Friday and how Christians celebrate Easter Saturday. We watched some short videos about the Easter story and how Easter is celebrated in church on Easter Saturday and Sunday. We then worked together in small groups to create our own Easter gardens to help us retell the story of Easter. 
 

The weather was kind this year so we were able to create our Easter gardens in our beautiful grounds and the children worked together brilliantly to gather different natural resources to create their gardens. The children remembered that we needed a tomb with a stone in front of it and three crosses to remind us that Jesus died on a cross and then was placed carefully in a tomb with a large stone covering it.
